From calcareous soil profile at more than 1,300 meters above sea level. Compared to the plushness of Perfiles Textura Fina (from clay-silt soils at 900m), this is an altogether more firm, structured wine, from chalky vineyards at 1,300m. Brooding yet elegant aromas of spice, coffee, currant, chocolate and graphite are accompanied by pretty violet hints. There are chewy tannins alongside evident smoky oak notes, plus brisk acidity to enliven your taste buds. Long finish.
