‘Gran Lurton’ Cabernet Sauvignon

£24.75 / per bottle

Tasting Notes

This wine has consistently been one of the best Cabernet Sauvignons in Argentina. The Lurton family were the first to plant in what is now the trendy area of Chacáyes in the Uco Valley. The plant density of this vineyard is very high, 22,000 per hectare, simmilar to Bordeaux. Pure cassis and mint on the nose, with lovely purity of fruit. Very fresh on the palate, with wild flowers on the finish.

Los Chacayes, Tunuyan, Uco Valley, Mendoza

The first Pioneers to plant in Los Chacayes were the Lurton family in the late 1980’s. Situated above the famous Vista Flores region, this new region is attracting a lot of young talent. Stony, shallow soils, with chalk and granite, the wines from here are very lean, aromatic and pure in fruit. The Michelini brothers have set up shop here with ‘Super Uco’, and many people are planting new vineyards with the view of creating a new region in this part of the Uco Valley. Stellar potential.
