‘Lujanita’ Rosé of Pinot Noir

£17.00 / per bottle

Tasting Notes

Made in the Bandol style with Pinot Noir, the colour from the grapes just whispers a hint of red currant fruit. Very light in colour, like an onion skin, this is a serious rose made in the style of a top Provence rose.

Year Made

Agrelo, Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza

The largest of the sub – regions of Lujan de Cuyo, Agrelo lies in a bowl – shaped valley, and so has low average temperatures. The soils are deep and sandy, with calcium carbonates in places, and a rocky sub – soil. Most of the famous wineries of Mendoza are found here on the famous streets of Cobos and Cochabamba, parallel to each other, and stretching for miles and miles. Vast and flat, home to many old vineyards and newcomers alike, the Malbecs you were drinking 15 years ago would probably have come from here. Lujan de Cuyo is often forgotten in favour of the Uco Valley, but we must remember that this is still the most important area in Mendoza for quality wine. Red fruits, earthy and complex wines, with ripeness and juicy tannin. Classic Malbec country.
