Colomé ‘Lote Especial’ Sauvignon Blanc

£23.25 / per bottle

Tasting Notes

From the highest vineyard in the world. Based in the small village of Payogasta, this ambitious project is as close to extreme as you can get. Naturally very low yields, with intense asparagus and green apple, very mineral on the palate with a full, rich mouthfeel. Salta is becoming a great place for Sauvignon Blanc.

Molinos, Salta

A small and remote region in the Calchaqui valley, in the northern province of Salta. This is where you will find the highest vineyards in the world, being owned by the Hess family in Molinos, followed by the Davalos family in Tacuil, close by. Sandy and stony soils, with a fresh feel, despite the intensity of the sun. rain is scarce (150mm a year), so local rivers and aquifers feed the grapes. Some of the most extreme conditions a vine could endure. the result is an intensity in the wines that is almost overwhelming. Rare and profound style.
